Image files not in Media Library, but within domain

For reasons that now escape me, when I originally started my website several years ago, I placed images in folders within my site hierarchy, then manually added links to those images in posts. (Yes, I know…)

So now I’ve got images in (for example) /wp-content/misc or /wp-content/flowers. These images have never been added to the Media Library, though.

I’d like to fix this problem once and for all, and import all of those into the Media Library. My question: Will Image Teleporter work on images which *are not* in the Media Library, but which *are* in folders within my domain?
