Try manually resetting your plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

I also have blank pages on my admin panel. I have not updated or used this WP site in over 2 years so I need to update to 4.0 but can’t see how to do that. I found the updated 4.0 but can’t see on blank pages how to update. I plan to mostly redo the whole very small site but need help to get 4.0 and then I know how to make changes once I have something to work with. Thanks for any help.

If I should do what is recommended above I will but I thought I first would need to get 4.0 since my problem might be that I am so expired in that department. Thanks.

I will try what is on the post from MacManX but thought I’d update first.

I have already found the fix.

    1. remove wp-admin from WP folder
    2. remove wp-include from WP folder
    3. remove all *.php files from root directory except wp-config
    4. Download latest version of WP
    5. Copy directory and files listed below to your WP folder

Login to WP panel – you will see Update request
After update all will work fine.
