• OK, I have little WordPress and web development experience but I’m the only person in our company with time, so I’ve been asked to re-enable the login page to one our WordPress sites. We received and e-mail from Media Temple telling us to reset the permissions of our wp-login.php script. The recommended permissions for this script was 0644. So, that is done.

This did not resolve the issue. Again, I am a beginner: I was told the htaccess file is trying to find the wp-login.php file in the home/public folder. (don’t know where that is) The site I believe was migrated a year ago but the login worked recently so I’m not sure if that is an issue.

The support at MT said that there some kind of config file that keeps referencing the wp-login file to that path. The wp-login.php file is located within the httpdocs folder for the site.

When we go to the site.com/wp-login.php I get this error: Warning: Unknown: failed to open stream: Permission denied in Unknown on line 0

Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required ‘/home/public/wp-login.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php/5.4.27-nfsn1/lib/:/usr/local/php/lib/’) in Unknown on line 0

I was told to check out this forum which I’m going to do now: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/failing-to-open-stream-on-login-page
