• I am almost completed with my WP site, but I am hung up on something that is probably simple. And I will do my best to explain.

What I want is to have three icons in a line horizontally across the body of my page. Each one different but user can click on one to take them to the correct submission page. One page for submitting assignments, one for submitting reports, and one for submitting an invoice. This is my first page that I have built, I found a template online and ran with it. When I go to put an icon on the page, it puts it all the way to the left or all the way to the right, and if I put all three next to eachother, they are crammed together, and it looks horrible.

I guess I just need to know where I should be getting my icons from, and how to resize and adjust them to right position cosmetically, still using my template. Is this possible.

I wish I was a little more well versed in the subject, but I am a newbie, and have been enjoying working with WP, just a few things about it, I just don’t understand yet.

This is also my first post to this forum, so I apologize if my “forum ettiquette” is bad or something.

    Any advice is appreciated.

    Thank you!!

  • Do you have a link to the page in question? We’ll need something to work off to provide the best support.

    Yes, my website is https://www.sac-us.com

is there a way to show an image on this forum so you can see what I am trying to get to as far as the icon layout?

You can take a screenshot of sorts and upload to an image hosting site, and then paste the link back in here for reference. Image embeds are disabled tho.

Where are the icons on your site? I’m not seeing them.

I apologize for not explaining, I want them to be on the services page underneath the text.

I dont have them on there yet, they weren’t working correctly so I stopped and hopped on here lol.

I believe you’ll need to get them onto the page so we can have something to work off.

Thats sort of where I left off, i found some vector icons that i liked (ie a money sign, a hammer, and a letter) but i dont know how to go upon putting them into the page and then have the ability to move them around and resize them and etc. … For some reason its stumping me.

If they are in fact vector icons, you need to enqueue the style sheet associated with it. If your simply not comfortable writing code, I would recommend one of my plugins:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/svg-vector-icon-plugin/

The plugin will enqueue a set of svg icons you can use on your site, with out actually writing code. You can also download your own custom icon packs from :
    https://icomoon.io/app/

You can upload the zip and the plugin will unzip and enqueue the necessary files.

If you run into any issues or need help I have a few tutorials up on my site:

I just got into work, I apologize for not getting back with you sooner. I am about to start looking through your links, but are you saying your plugin enqueues a set of icons, meaning a layout of a few icons like the image I showed you?

I actually already have your plugin installed! I guess I have to figure out how to use it better. I’m going to try to get them onto the page, and if I have trouble “arranging” them. Possibly you could help me then?

I’ve actually heard things about you now that I recall, you have made a little impact in the WP community! I am blessed that you have taken the time to help me… Thank you Sir,

Well I tried entering the shortcode for an icon into a html widget field, and when I refreshed page, it deleted all the text on the page and left me with only this.

    “font-size:100px;”

Well I watched your tutorial, and even though you make it look so simple and easy, I guess I’m just out of my league. I think I am going to have to find an alternative way to display what I’m trying to do. Thank you for your time though.
