    If updating a plugin fails like this, you need to log in via FTP (or the file manager in your hoster’s control panel) and remove the plugin folder yourself.

    This isn’t related to the plugin itself – and neither is there anything to blame the WordPress update mechanism for which is generally quite stable – but if there is a problem with your server during a plugin update, this can happen in very rare cases.

    Don’t worry though, once you removed the folder and installed WP-Lister again, all your settings and listings will still be there.
