Please enter a valid email address in the 'FROM' field

Hello all,

when i attempt to send a test email from easy wp smtp settings page i get the “Please enter a valid email address in the ‘FROM’ field” error at the top of the page. the email address in the from field is definitely, 100% a valid email address and i have tried it with several. at the moment i am trying it with my gmail address. i realise that it is probably something quite simple but i can’t think of what. has anybody got any suggestions?
