[Plugin: NextGen Gallery] Galleries are there but not showing

  • I have the exact same problem as this issue, and I’ve followed all of the above instructions, including the last one that was the solution of ianam.

    However, I have not succeeded.

    Same thing – no changes were made on the server, except regular updates (site is https://www.svea.nu)

    I updated all plugins today in hopes of resolution, but that turned the plugin to look for images in the root, instead of wp-content/gallery/ even though the settings says just that. I copied the images for the front page gallery to the root, to keep it running.

    Trying to manage galleries, the plugin recognizes their existance, but does not show them.

    What further steps can I take to get this to work?

  • @davpah – What version of NextGEN Gallery did you update from?

    Also, since you “updated all plugins” did you check for plugin conflicts afterward?

    I realized I had the work copy and did some tests.
    Only this plugin installed.

    This worked
    NextGEN 1.9.6
    Wordpress 3.4.2

    Updated WordPress

    This worked
    NextGEN 1.9.6
    Wordpress 4.0

    Updated NextGEN

    This stopped working
    NextGEN 2.0.66.29
    Wordpress 4.0

    I will try and downgrade NextGEN on the live site now, if it’s possible.

    With 1.9.6 it works again, but now I can’t access the settings to reset them to the way it should be.

    It wants to force me to upgrade. What’s the workaround for that, since 2.0.66.29 clearly doesn’t work for us, with or without other plugins.

    Hoping there’s a fix for this. Or is the only solution to downgrade WordPress as well? Would that help even?

    OK. Ditching this plugin and looking for something that works. A lot of work ahead of me. Crap.

    @davpah, I see you submit a bug report ticket, so we’ll migrate the conversation and troubleshooting to there.
