import articles from custom database

  • Hi all,

    I’m trying to import posts (+ users, other info, …) from an old Access database into WordPress.
    So far I think I’ll have to go with the option ‘Import RSS’ and therefore make a rather big RSS file from the stuff in the old database.

    If i understand it right, this will only allow me to import posts (title + content) and I’ll have to manually do the rest.

    If anyone can give me any advice on how to solve this quicker and more efficiently, please let me know. ??

    Another question regarding the RSS file:
    Is there a place where I can see how a wordpress RSS file should be formatted?

    I’ve found a solution. In stead of juggling with RSS files and whatnot, I used a trial version of a program called ‘Navicat’. Worked like a charm to import directly from Access to MySQL.
