HyperDB or Multiple DBs

We currently use wordpress for our main website with your plugin (pro version). We mostly use it for CDN support and are exploring caching options.
For reliability concerns we need to have multiple db’s in operation at a single time with failover support. In order to get this to work we use HyperDB.
From what I understand HyperDB is incompatible with your database caching. Is there any way to workaround this issue? I’ve gone through the plugin code a bit and notice references to an enterprise version that allows for something you call “DB Cluster”. After doing a little more digging I found the class W3_Enterprise_DbCluster. This looks remarkably similar to what HyperDB does.
Is there any additional information on your enterprise version or a workaround allowing HyperDB to function?
