Hi, I have use WordPress SEO by Yoast for over two years without issue. Recently I updated to a new WP theme building my site brick by brick using Rocket Gantry. My site is Drinking Cup and recent posts when pasted into Facebook or run through the FB Object Debugger state that “The ‘og:type’ property is required, but not present”.

When I try to fetch new scrape information, I get a timeout message and “Object [at URL] of type ‘website’ is invalid because a required property ‘og:title’ of type ‘string’ was not provided”.

Any help would be much appreciate.

    Thanks DC.

  • Hello,

I have exactly the same problem.
Having perform the update of this plugin, my facebook shares no longer work.

By going to the facebook debugger, I get this:

    Warning
    Errors That Must Be Fixed
    Missing Required Property
The ‘og:type’ property is required, but not present.

    Notice
    Warnings That Should Be Fixed
    Inferred Property
The ‘og:url’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

But could not find the problem to solve because his information already exists on the pages.
What does it do? Do you have a solution?

    Example :

    Thanks

EDIT : Google+ no longer work also for sharing, watch the latest posts are visible: Google+

Hi Zoomsurlille, I’ve managed to resolve the problem with the help of another developer. For me it was another plugin (NextGen Galleries) which was clashing with the og:type properties Facebook was trying to read. So I deleted it.

Now when I enter the required link into the Facebook Object Debugger and ask it to Fetch New Scrape Information, it reloads up the missing meta data allowing me to paste the URL into my Facebook page.

    Hope this helps mate.

    DC.

Hi Zoomsurlille, I’m having the identical issue. Although I don’t have the NextGen Galleries. If you come up with a work around let me know. I can’t share on any social media (Facebook/Twitter) – Painfreekitchen.com
