BR tags dont work on homepage :(

First things first – the theme is amazing.

The second thing… I’d love to use the theme for my poetry – so I made a test poem on my blog, and it looks fine on the post page, but on the homepage where it shows post snippets, the lines don’t break apart like they should. I tried using BR tags to break the lines, but it’s still not working. Is this something that’s possible?

Let me give an example, because I’m a little tired and I might be loopy as I write this.

The post should look like this:

This is a poem
I’m very happy with it
So cool

But instead – the post looks like this on the homepage:

This is a poem I’m very happy with it So cool
