• Could have been as early as last night.

“Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.”

I have no idea what that means. If someone can help me in laymens terms I can usually follow and fix the problem. The last incident the search engine turned up was from 6 years ago.

Now I can’t get on the site at all, not even to edit anything? At least not that with my limited knowledge of this stuff I can figure out how to get to.

My site is a sales site, I can’t have it down like this. Had I not checked the site? How long would I NOT have known this was happening? Holiday weekends, people go away etc.

    Any help is appreciated.

  • You will need to talk to your hosting company.

Basically what the error means is that your web server doesn’t have the required part loaded to allow it to talk to the database server. This is something that you hosting company has to fix for you.

This is the second serious problem I’ve had with dream host in 2 months. Did I just choose badly?

Possibly. I haven’t dealt with them in the past, but I have seen a lot of people that have bene happy with them before, so I realyl don’t want to comment one way or the other. ??
