Changed the URL in settings and broke it. How to I fix it?
-
I’ve been using wordpress.com for a long time, husband bought me a domain and URL for my birthday, so I’ve spent the evening fiddling with the www.ads-software.com ‘app’ install via GoDaddy.
I exported my old wordpress site to the new one, all good once I finally got the importer to install (had to install an older version of wordpress to install the importer because I got a 500 ~something~ error).
My website is https://shillianth.com/wordpress/ it did have a nice pretty theme (lol). I noticed that when I went to click on any of the stories EG: https://shillianth.com/?p=236#more-236. So I went to the Settings page and saw that the wordpress site was listed as https://shillianth.com/wordpress. Thought to myself, if I change that to just https://shillianth.com/ it’ll fix the links.
It didn’t, aaand it broke the theme. I can’t get back into the admin page to fix it. I now get a 404 Error.
Do I have to start all over again? Is there a way to correct this?
