• Hi,

I am going to build a new site, and since I have been running a WordPress blog for some time now, I hope to be able to use the same interface and the flexibility to run a new site.

Conventional site, I mean by a normal website on a particular topic.

    e.g. https://www.anandtech.com

Is this possible/advisable? I have never build a website before other than my blog, so would like to seek experienced member’s advice.

    Thanks!

  • A number of people have done exactly that. You can just have a website with only pages, without any posts and setting your front page to “display a static page” under “options > reading” in admin.

Just to back up piz, there, I’ve installed WordPress as a CMS for several clients. Most of them aren’t interesting in blogging at all, and use WP solely to manage the sites’ content. Works like a charm.

    Thanks piz and doodle!

I will go ahead with WordPress then. Will save me lots of time from learning another system altogether.
