Changing nameservers

  • I’ve transferred my WordPress site to a new server for the second time, and have to now change the nameservers for new server.

    This may be a stupid question, but do I have to change the nameservers at the original registrar, or can I change them at the last hosting company?

    So that basically they’d be pointing from registrar to old server to new server. I’ve been told to do that, but surely even if that does work, I’d have to keep paying for the account at old server so that the nameservers work?

    Name servers are changed through your domain registrar, and you’ll just replace what you currently have set with the new name servers given to you by your new hosting provider.

    You don’t need to pay for the old hosting provider, just the domain registrar and the new hosting provider.
