Automatically login?

I have the plugin enabled set to auto.

Is it supposed to login the user automatically to the site?

Also, if so, does it do the same for existing user?

I am trying to find a solution that will allow users to login at any of the subdomains and be logged in at all the sites. Right now it seems to only log the user into all the sites if they log in from the main domain.
