• Hello you lovely folks, I’m back again, as so are many others who are having the exact same issues with their media libraries and uploads.

I’m using my website as a social community with buddypress, so as you can imagine being able to upload images is a 100% requirement!!!

Here are the steps that I take when uploading, the themes im using and themes i have tried and steps taken to try and fix the issue.

    1. Theme BuddyBoss latest version
    2. WordPress latest version
    3. Buddypress latest version
    4. all plugins up to date
    5. Large files fail to show in library but do show if you click on ‘edit’ whilst in the media library.
    6. Uploaded images show as greyed out boxes in media library
    7.Small images upload just fine

Steps I have taken to fix this issue

    1. Used default theme
    2. de-activated all plugins
    3. Raised php memory limit, contacted host to ensure that it had taken effect
    4. Large files fail to show in library but do show if you click on ‘edit’ whilst in the media library.
    5. Followed every bit of advice I could find on the Forum here and else where, but so far all fixes just don’t work.

Why is it that no fix has been found or issued by WordPress, you just have to look through the forums here to see their is a big issue with the new media layout.

To the admin here on the forums going by the name of Andrew, please don’t close this topic until a fix has been issued.

You complain when others post comments and try to help each other out but yet, when you ask for info on a certain issue you ignore it.

Yeah. I mean, no that’s not it.

    *Drinks more coffee*

The problem with your other topic was that all the “Me too!” made it unproductive and closing it was the right thing to do.

People playing “pile on!” doesn’t do anything productive. ?? The media uploader problems are never “one size problem and solutions fit all”.

Steps I have taken to fix this issue

    1. Used default theme
    2. de-activated all plugins

That’s good. Just to be complete did you also clear your browser cache and cookies?

    3. Raised php memory limit, contacted host to ensure that it had taken effect

How and where? How did you validate that the memory was increased? Did you create a <?php phpinfo(); ?> file and check that way? What does your web server error logs say when you made the change?

Some host’s won’t let WordPress increase memory and you may need to ask them to update your php.ini settings. If that’s the problem; most of these issues are related to javascript.

    4. Large files fail to show in library but do show if you click on ‘edit’ whilst in the media library.

The media library relies heavily on javascript. Have you performed any js debugging?

    5. Followed every bit of advice I could find on the Forum here and else where, but so far all fixes just don’t work.

    Every bit? That’s cool! ??

But can you narrow that down to specifics for what that means? For example this admittedly lengthy post contains a ton of info on how to get to the bottom of it.

But there’s a lot there. Which ones did you try and what did your logs say when you tried them?

Actually I closed your other topic for the reason that you duplicated your thread. If you would prefer, I could close this topic and you can continue the conversation on the original topic. That is how everybody else is treated, was trying to make an exception for you.

Andrew I posted information that you asked for and had no reply from you at all regarding the issues me and other wordpress users are having with media uploads since upgrading to 4.0, but this information was ignored. Feel free to close this topic as it isn’t going anywhere fast.

You are mistaken to think that I, or anyone here, owes you support. I’m surprised you’re holding that against me, even though I thought I’d try to help. In future I won’t make that mistake again. You can continue your original thread.
