I installed v.2.1.2 via Fantastico (via CPanel) and no matter what theme I select–even ones that have been described as 2.1 compatible–the images don’t show up.

I’ve searched the forum for related threads, and here’s what I’ve already tried:

    • I’ve made sure my Hot-Link Protection was taking the new blog address into account,
    • and I’ve made sure the .htaccess file was doing the same.
    • I’ve also gone into Options on the Admin side of the blog and made sure the two URL fields matched the actual domain address.
    • I’ve typed in test paths to the actual images to verify that they are on the server and not corrupted–they show up fine using direct paths.

Is there something else I’m overlooking? Or is this a problem with the latest version? I have two other blogs, both in the 2.0 family, that continue to work fine, and they’re on the same hosting package as this one.

Ah, the site in question is saving-green.com

  • How about telling us what images you’re looking at. ??

They don’t work for me. For example, this one 404’s for me:

    https://saving-green.com/wp-content/themes/city-lights-10/images/bg2.gif

Where is this image, both as a URL that works for you as well as within your file system.

    Thanks,

    UPDATE:
I was curious why you assumed there’d be a default “images” directory, drmike, so I decided to try something out. I copied the test theme image into a new “images” folder within the city-lights-10 folder, and it worked–the image now shows up!

I’ve since switched to yet another theme, and this time I made sure there was an “images” directory within the theme folder. Everything is working fine.

(Either I picked five bad themes in a row, or my ftp program at work is not creating subdirectories when I upload… or I was losing directory structures when I initially downloaded and unzipped the themes. Anyway. Thanks for reading.)
