• I recently installed your plugin to run a couple of galleries on my site. I need the “Basic Thumbnail” gallery to work, but when I click on an image to expand into a lightbox, there is no way for me to close the image or move on to the next image. It’s up permanently with no “X” to close. If I click off the image onto the rest of the site to try and close the image it does not work either, nor does pressing the Esc key.

Please advise me how to do this, as I am close to uninstalling and trying another gallery that will give me the functionality I need.

@cwhit – A link to the post / page where this is happening may be helpful, can you share that?

Here is a link that will display the issue:

@cwhit – Thanks for the link … do you have the same issue if you temporarily switch to a default WordPress Twenty series theme?

Also, is this the same for all Lightbox Effects, or just the Fancybox?

I don’t think I understand your questions. Is the default WordPress Twenty series theme just a standard “out-of-the-box” WordPress gallery option? Also, what is Fancybox?

I’m having the same problem with Fancybox.

Lightbox opens the image in a new tab (that’s been brought up in another thread here)

I’m running a custom theme “Typographic” with a child theme installed.

https://www.inboccaperformance.com/past/shoes-danced-pieces is where I’m currently using your plugin. I’m working on it currently so may have different settings by the time you get to this, but will be happy to help however I can.

    Thanks photocrati team!

@cwhit, activate a WordPress Twenty series theme just to see if you have the same issue also with a WordPress default theme. If you don’t have any issue with the default theme, it means that is an issue of your current theme, not NextGEN’s.
Fancy-box is a lightbox effect, and @cais asked if the problem occurs also with another effect among those listed in the drop-down menu.

@jason – NoCoward.com, for your own issue open your own topic, as per the forum rules.

@cwhit – You can find the bundled Lightbox Effects that come with NextGEN Gallery as a convenience under Gallery > Other Options > Lightbox Effects … Fancy box is the default.

@tizz While I understand your thought, I was trying to help answer Cais’ question on having the same problem on a different theme, suggesting it was not specific to cwhit’s site. I was going to see the solution here and if it worked for me, otherwise yes I will open my own thread.

    Thank you!

@jason – NoCoward.com, I understand your good intentions, but jump into someone else’s topic with its own different issue does not help, indeed messes up and defeats the answers of who is trying to help who, in addition, have to spend more time to answer to another person.
These issues are at 99,9% site’s specific.
Also, troubleshooting must be done with a default WordPress theme, not another theme.
For your issue, please carry on your own topic, as per the forum rules.

Thank you @jason – NoCoward.com – it is helpful as @tizz mentioned, to keep individual questions to separate threads. Though they may be similar, more often than not we find that errors/issues found on users sites can end up being quite different. An individual thread would be very helpful. ?? Thanks!
