  • Actually, on the options page, at the bottom is a check box that says “Delete Wordfence tables and data on deactivation?” which has been there for some time I think.

We’re sorry that you did not have a good experience with our plugin like many others have. Perhaps next time you can give us a chance to help before you leave?

Just click the box at the bottom of your Wordfence options page to “Delete Wordfence tables and data on deactivation” and then deactivate.

And we’ve even anticipated that some folks might not want to or be able to install Wordfence to remove there data, so we created a Wordfence Assistant plugin which also gives you the option to remove the tables:

Ah… Hidden in options… Ugh… Better to be part of normal deinstall process messaging.

Possibly but thats just your opinion. Sometimes people want to uninstall to troubleshoot issues with compatibility with other plugins and don’t want to lose all their data. We’re trying to balance the wants of all people. If you wouldn’t mind, can you be more specific where you might rather see this option? The “de-install process” is deactivating the plugin and removing wordfence from your plugins folder. I guess I’m used to only seeing dialogue provided by wordpress, not the plugin vendors, in the admin when removing a plugin.

    Can I chime in? Thanks…
David you peaked my interest bravo!
But I must disagree 100%, I loaded phpmyadmin to have a look and see for myself this pollution problem you speak of. Just one question what did you use to calculate this pollution problem. I’m pretty bored so I tested it with and without the plugin installed and with and without checking Delete Wordfence tables and data on deactivation”.. You should possibly consider updating your negative comment to something more accurate,… Your comment is not true.

There are far better solutions, to run at OS level, rather than running WordFence at WordPress level.

Please provided me a link to one… I’d love to see this magical plugin that you do not have to read first before clicking buttons. I have a few clients who could use that one. My advice would probably be to you and them both just slow down a bit a read the functions of all plugin’s you install top to bottom before doing anything… And most of all don’t bash a company offering a free servive that should be a paid servive and ruin it for the other 2-3 million users who are grateful to use this top of the line FREE plugin!

    I’m done
