Hello, we are are testing out this plugin and finding it has a lot of potential to help us, however…

The Pageviews in the plugin are going up about 10 every second. I know this because when I refresh the buttons, it’s starts off at zero and increases by about 10 or so every second. I went and looked at the “Detailed Stats,” and found pages that have no Pageviews or very few Pageviews in Google Analytics, are all of a sudden ranking in this plugin… this includes our RSS feed page…? The second a unique visit happens (which is about 1 per second and is not true for our blog), it shows 10 Pageviews. The same is with the Unique Visits; we NEVER get that kind of traffic.

When I refreshed the stats in the plugin I had 0 Pageviews. Now I have over 9,600 Pageviews with 85 unique visitors about two hours later.

Don’t get me wrong, I would love to have that number of unique visitors, but it’s not possible right now, and doesn’t match our Google Analytics account. These numbers are being made up and increasing by 10’s every second as I type. Bots usually run our site Tuesdays (today), but this has been happening steadily the last few days as well. What’s the issue here?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

    Hi nkappel,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused. After reading your thread I think I know what may have caused this issue.

The plugin is not making up the numbers. It was coded in a way to add a pageview on every successful display of a box. And now I see the bug. When you have 10 posts on say your front page all showing a box under them it’ll generate 10 page views. Are you using multiple boxes on same page?

It’s a bug and thanks for bringing this to my notice. I’ll fix it asap and release a new version.

    Regards

I am using it on the blog feed page, so yes, that would explain part of it!

But here’s where it doesn’t make sense: I created two cta’s just to experiment with them. The first is inside of each blog post. The second is inside each blog post AND the main blog feed page. Which do you think would get more Pageviews? Somehow the first is getting more than the second. Maybe this will be fixed with the fixing of the bug?

nkappel, I forgot to mention one thing. The free version of the plugin supports only one box per page. This means you can create as many boxes as you want and place each of them on different pages, but for the plugin to work normally you’ll have to have just one conversion box on a single page to collect stats perfectly.

You may still place multiple boxes on individual pages, but then you’ll have to ignore the stats.

So you can say that this is not a bug, but a limitation of the free version.

But I think, like you, this may be causing problems for other plugin users also. So I may add multiple boxes on single page feature in future releases. I cannot guarantee this as this was one of the USPs for the Pro version, but will figure out something to make this free version stand alone for the free version users.

    Thanks

It’s interesting, unless you did something, the numbers seem to be slowing down quite a bit, having near stopped for one of the ads.

But if what you said is the case, for the sake of the quality of your product to the user, I recommend disabling the free version the ability to post more than one ad. And you should probably tell potential users what you had mentioned to me.

And if I may make a suggestion:
Make it so that I can disable an ad too. The only option I have is to “delete” or “duplicate” an ad.

Well I can not do something on your blog from here, but good to hear something it’s getting better.

I don’t know why you are calling the boxes as ad, but I like your suggestion. Would surely think of something.

Make it so that I can disable an ad too. The only option I have is to “delete” or “duplicate” an ad.

Great idea. Adding this to my todo list too.

Thanks for all the input nkappel.
