• I’d like to have excerpts appear on my front page. But when I turn on that mode, the caption and information from an inserted photo appears in the place where the photo was inserted. In the middle of the post excerpt will be something like this: [caption id="attachment_75" align="alignleft" width="176"]. The picture itself doesn’t appear in the excerpt, which I actually would like. In full post mode, rather than excerpt mode, it works fine.

I tested it locally and [caption] shortcode is removed at all from the post text on the excerpt mode. The activetab theme is removing all shortcodes and html in excerpt mode because it is very complicated to show images, shortcodes or html nicely and it is impossible to predict all cases with all the plugins or user input.

If you want to have an images in the list of posts with excerpts – try to use “featured image” option. You can add featured image for the post and this image will be shown in the list of posts and on the single view.

The featured image works great to add an image to the excerpt. But I still get the [caption] info showing when the image in the main post (not the featured image) has a caption. You can see it in the excerpt for October 26 here: https://www.theoldbroadruns.com/

    I’m sure there’s a simple fix, but I’m baffled.

Probably activetab theme conflicts with some plugin or it could be something else. It is hard to understand what is causing the issue. I will investigate this issue and I will update the theme if I will found a solution.

The easiest fix for now for this issue that I can suggest is just to move captioned image to 1 paragraph lower.
