• I know this has been asked before but several of the posts I found were years old and the others just confused me.

I have a Page titled Photos which includes a NextGEN Basic Extended Album showing several galleries with a thumbnail image, Gallery Name, Description and number of photos.

When I click on the gallery name or the thumbnail I am taken to the gallery showing a grid of thumbnails. What I’d like to see here is either the gallery name or description or both above the thumbnails so I know which gallery I’m in.

I know this can be achieved by linking to a separate page for each gallery as that is how I was doing it before I organised the galleries into an Album but is there a really easy way of achieving this without having multiple pages.

I have seen posts about creating templates but didn’t really understand how to achieve this.
    Thanks

@coconurtaler – at this time, currently the only option would be to create separate pages as outlined here: https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/link-gallery-album-page/

Thanks Becky, I’d sort of come to that conclusion. Most of my gallery’s already have pages anyway .
    Thanks for the help.

@coconurtaler – You could use custom template(s) to achieve what you are describing as well (which you alluded to) but you also noted you don’t really understand the concept. What part of the process are you unclear on?

    Hi Cais,
I had a bit of a play with templates but couldn’t get the desired result.
I can’t remember exactly what I did as I deleted my failed attempts but I managed to copy album-extend.php to modify and did find some code to put in there which added the title or description (can’t remember which). But the text that was added was positioned towards the middle and Altered the alignment of the thumbnails.
I didn’t know how to correct the position or alter the font size so decided it was easier to create a page for each gallery. I also then added a link back to the album page from the gallery pages.
    Thanks for your assistance.

@coconurtaler – Thanks for the follow-up. Perhaps you will be more successful with your next attempt.
