Theme: Virtue – Want latests blog post images to be smaller

Sorry for the ignorance, but I am just learning WordPress. I love the Virtue theme and have my site looking just about right. The only thing I hate is how my latest blog posts show up on my home page. I would prefer them to show up like they do in all the demos/tutorials with a small image to the left and title, text and date to the right – all in a grid format. I figured out how to do it if I don’t have a side bar, but I want the side bar too.

Is this possible?
