WordPress to Replace Static Site

I am replacing a static website with a wordpress site and set up wordpress the wordpress site to run in a sub folder example: https://www.Domain/wordpress and am now wanting to move the test site to the root to replace the static html site. I “tried” to the move last night and all the content did indeed transfer, but the theme was not showing correcting, it was just a mess of words.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Anyone do this sort of thing I could outsource to?
