• I just can’t seem to find a working plug-in that does what should be a simple action. I want all of my registered users to get an e-mail alert whenever I or anyone posts a topic. It would be great if the plug-in also allowed me to write the subject line so that I could for example, let users know that an IMPORTANT post has just been published. I’ve tried a few plug-ins and when I publish a test post, no e-mail is sent.

I would be very grateful for any recommendations. The site is arroyosecosedona.com and it is a community type blog with less than 50 users.

  • I’ve got something like this on a couple of sites – but it’s not done through the WordPress system itself.

The way that I’ve done it is using Mailchmp. In their system you can set up an automatic email that is sent when your sites RSS feed is updated with new articles. It’s free for small lists and in-frequent sending, so it’s a good place to start looking.

If you want to do it from the WordPress system there’s plugins out there that offer bulk mailing options, so it’s worth doing a search in teh pluigns repository to see what you can find.
