• Hey guys!
It is always a bit embarrassing to show up with a stupid question – so I keep it short: where the hell can I find the editor, so that I gain access to the stylesheet??? It probably just because I need new glasses, but I can’t seem to find it in the wordpress dashboard.
    Sorry.

  • Hello,

It’s in the default place: Appearance > Editor ??

Ok. Thanks for the prompt response.
Looks like I am not stupid. That’s where I assumed it should be. But it is NOT there! Under Appearance I have
    Themes
    Customise
    Widgets
    Menus
    Install Plugins
    Header
    Background

That’s it. Any idea where it went?

Just in case it is a known incompatibility with a plugin
    I have
    Akismet
    Polylang
    Wordpress SEO
    Black Studio Tiny MCE
    Site Origin Page Builder
    Image Widget
    Site Origin Widgets Bundle

It has nothing to do with the theme, not as far as I know anyway. I’m seeing the Editor fine. You should probably try and disable your plugins one by one and check. You’re not on multisite, right?

@kluong – Chances are that one of your plugins automatically disables the editor. That is a very common practice, as the editor is one of the easiest ways for your site to get hacked.

Travis, vladff, thanks very much for your answers.

I have disabled all plugins – still no editor and I even uninsatlled all plugins. Still no editor. I even activated another theme (same problem there: no editor). and reactivated Moesia.

An further ideas? Seems to be a general problem. And no, I am not on multiside mode.

    Would appreciate your help!

I have also researched the problem more generally and I have never installed any security plugin nor have I tempered with the config.php…

Did you install WordPress through a software suite of some sort or “one-click” installation on your hosting account? ie, Softaculous, Fantastico, Mojo, Installatron or something similar? There’s a good chance your web host disables the editor automatically because of the security risks. If you really want the editor back, contact your host and ask.

My recommendation, use FTP to download files, edit them, then re-upload. That’s the method professionals use.

Even better, use an advanced text editor program with built-in FTP. I use notepad++ – https://notepad-plus-plus.org/

You might also be on Multisite?

Edit: yeah, I saw now that you’re not.

    Dear Travis,

I have checked with my host and we de- and re-installed and the editor is still not there. They are now checking if they have a bug in their wordpress installation files.

It is in any case nothing related to Moesia. Still, if you guys have any further ideas please let me know!!
