• I am working with blogs for my company and we are now on Media temple’s grid server. We are having all kinds of problems with downtime, database connection issues, and GPU overage charges for the poor service they give us.

Can someone recommend a host that is suitable to accomodate a very large amount of bandwith? I have seen WordPress’s top 10 list, But i was hoping for someone who who has first-hand experience with one of them.

Also, I’m looking for a host that provides good wordpress support so they can assist me with the migration, upgrades, plugins and other things my company doesn’t mind paying extra for.

I think we’ll be needing about 2 TB worth of bandwith.
Average about 350,000 page views a day and about 30,000 sessions

Any help on this matter from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    jeff

  • If you’re doing 350k views a day, I wouldn’t go with hosting. I’d get a server.

And even then, I’d lean towards a second box just for the database.

You have some sort of cache operating, right?

Unfortunately I don’t think we have a cache working now.
I am inheriting these blogs from a developer who left our company. How can I tell if I have it working or not?

One of the reasons I was hoping to find a reliable outside source is that I really need some wordpress support as the managing the blogs are only part of my job. But I may need to purchase a book and just dig into it. So do you think an outside host like siteground is out of the question? How about wordpress’ vip hosting? With the kind of traffic we have, do you just think there is no way i can find reliable hosting from any outside source?

    Thanks for your help!
