Creating a Gallery with Media

Hi there,

I am trying to create a photo gallery and would like it to be similar to what is indicated in the following:

When I am creating it, it doesn’t give me the option of type. I also don’t seem to have the image galleries carousels.

Someone was helping me set up this website and was the one who originally installed wordpress, however unfortunately I have been left to figure it out on my own as they are no longer assisting. I have basic web design experience, however wordpress is completely new to me.

From what I can see, either I am completely missing something or it is a different/upgraded version of wordpress?? Please help as I have been at this all day and to be honest, none of the plugins I have looked at are what I am looking for, however how it is laid out in the support article listed above is what I am wanting my photo gallery page to look like.
