• Well what another waste of a day…. having downloaded v4 and followed the infamous 5 minute installation nothing works… a few hours trawling through forums and troubleshooting has not helped…. the few glimmers are lost with poor instructions… We are not all experts and therefore require clear concise assistance when problems occur… the error message “Not Found [CFN #0005]” keeps appearing, but when i enter this in your search request there is no answer… one thread touches on it and the answer has nothing to do with the problem… so anyone out there who can assist I would be very grateful. I am not an expert, dont know what a database is dont know where it is nor whether i create it our provider… i just need to know how its done step by step……so i can get on with my work. thanks… (if my posting sounds annoyed then apologies…i am)

  • Hey,

Can you explain your problem briefly? What are you trying to achieve ?

@aureuspublishing, it isn’t very clear what problem you’re experiencing. If you’re having trouble installing WordPress, please see the link below.

Mohamed: i am trying to upload WP4.0 via FTP on to a remote host so i can create our new website.

Ive followed all the instructions. downloaded, unpacked, changed the config.php and uploaded. When i then enter the address in the browser i get “Not Found [CFN #0005]”. Now i am sure there is a simple explanation but when i search “Not Found [CFN #0005]” there isnt anything on WordPress… i am sure i am not the only one with this problem.

also there is an assumption we know what people are talking about: I dont. We need clear instructions to resolve issues… i dont want to read” create a database” i need to read : “you need to create a database and this is how, and it needs to go in this place, and in it you place x, y and z files…”

Did you install WordPress in a sub folder?

    Ex: https://yourdomain.com/wordpress

I think you can find enough informations and instruction from below link
    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Installing_WordPress

    01. Make sure you remote server works fine without problem. Just create and upload small html file and confirm it.

    02. Make sure you upload all the WordPress files to server.

    03. Check database name, database username and password.

Note : There are enough articles on “How to install WordPress on remote server” this topic. Be patient, read them clearly and follow instruction correctly

What part are you unclear on?

OK, have gone through everything and uploaded an edited wp-config.php file and now get this error report: “Sorry, I need a wp-config-sample.php file to work from. Please re-upload this file from your WordPress installation.” any ideas?

Ok, all done. not sure how…. after creating a new config.php i had to enter all the info again on the wp site. I’m installed. Thanks for your suggestions. The Youtube was by far the best info i have had but got there after 20 hours and loads of trial and error…

    Glad to hear : )
