Yoast – no Meta Page Description on home page

  • Hi I am using the Yoast plugin and I recently noticed that on my home page I have no Meta Page Description.

    e.g.

    <meta name=”description” content=”blah blah”/>

    Yet it does appear on all the internal pages and the blog posts – but it doesn’t appear on the home page.

    I don’t have any sort of page design for my home page – i think thats handled by a theme.

    However, if I look at page source I do see entries by Yoast on the home page just no Page Description Meta.

    I cannot figure out why or what to do to fix it

    Any ideas ?

    Also just a follow up to this, Yoast is not creating the robots.txt file – isn’t it supposed to do that ?
