• Hi! My site is lianavoinea.opa.ro. After I upload files larger than 56 kb I get the http error. If I refresh, I find that the image has been uploaded though. However, its thumbnail appears broken. Here a printscreen: https://lianavoinea.opa.ro/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/broken-thumbnails-worpress-4.0.png.
The problem is not caused by my host, because on another site on the same domain(agrobun.opa.ro) even if I get the http error, on refresh the thumbnail is not broken.
The file permission is not the problem, I checked in Filezilla and it is 755.
I would be very grateful if you could help me and I will not have to downgrade wordpress.
    Thank you!!!

    Hi,

It sounds like the script that creates various sizes is perhaps timing out, have you tried if the same happens if you disable your plugins and use the default theme (at this time Twenty Fourteen) ?

Hi! Sorry, I did not see the email. Thank you for your feedback!

What I noticed in the meanwhile is that it accepts other sizes. The largest I have seen is 489kb and it is a jpg.
One png image, even if it is smaller than its jpg variant (191 compared to 226) is not accepted, while other files are accepted as pngs. I have a png which is accepted that has 299kb, so size is actually not the matter…I am totally confused.

Yes, I have deactivated all plugins and activated Twenty Fourteen but the same happens….:(
    Thanks!

    Hi,

Just to clarify, you’ve turned off all plugins and turned on just the Twenty Fourteen theme, then tried uploading one of your images?

yes, exactly, I did this. I deactivated all plugins, I activated the most recent theme and I have tried to upload an image with issues. Not working. Thanks!

I’m not quite sure what could be causing it then, have you had this problem before on your site, and have you asked your hosting provider about it, as it still seems like a resource/time problem?
