• I need access to posting on Reddit and your plugin claims that as of version 3.0 it supports Reddit, but it’s not in the list of accounts to connect to. Fancy adding an entry for the feature?

Apparently there’s some fine print that That it supports Reddit with a third-party library. However, that third-party library is actually a library that the developers made and have added only to the paid edition of the software.

What’s wrong with the good ‘ol “Upgrade to access these extra features” instead of hiding things and making your program look shady?

Wow… I’d like to suggest changing the tone of the linked to article to not be condescending. There isn’t a “big red letters” section on the WordPress plugin description and the only thing that it says on the description is that Reddit was supported since version 3.0.

I didn’t choose to ignore any information, in fact, I sought the reason why it wasn’t showing up as a choice. As you’re saying, “thanks to all people who chose to ignore the warning written in big red letters,” you’re implying that I’m not the first to wonder what’s going on. To put it bluntly, it appears that the way you’re attempting to convey that Reddit is no longer supported in the free version, is ineffective. Perhaps if you update the description on your plugin, you’ll find that people will stop asking why it’s missing.

    Hope this helps!

That post is one yer old and it was used by then to explain why Reddit disappeared from the list. Version 3.0 came out with Reddit and had big red letters begging people not to misuse it. It turned out that more people wanted to spam reddit then to actually contribute to it.

We were contacted by reddit and asked to shut it down. Then we agreed that it will be available only in the “Pro” version because we can track who is misusing it there.
