Searching documents

    Hi,

    I’m just beginning to use your plugin. I was wondering if there is some kind of search feature available, or any way to dynamically change what is shown in a Document Gallery.

    For instance, for a site I am creating, I need to be able to provide filtering options so that people can see only PDF documents within these categories, and order them according to upload date, title etc. All from the frontend.

    Another thing I was looking at was a search feature, which would simply try and match the titles of the documents to their search parameters.

    Are these features available with this plugin? Or do you know any other plugins/methods to achieve what I have suggested?

    Hi Jake,

    What you describe could definitely be done with Document Gallery at its core, but you would need additional code to tie all of the functionality together.

    It actually should be quite straightforward. Take a look at do_shortcode() for details on how you can invoke the dg shortcode from your template. Then all you need to do is use the documented taxonomy support to load whatever category you want on the given page.
