    Hello,

I want Images/Icons for Links. First, I tried “Generate Favorite Icons and Store locally”. After that I tried https://www.blackseals.net/links/bricks/ and there where no new icons. It looks like the files are missing. So I used FTP-Client and find the new jpg files, but no one work.

So I activated Thumbshots and tried “Generate Thumbnails and Store locally”. But also I see new jpg files and no one work.

If I download the files and open with picture viewer, I see “wrong file header”, “empty file”, “bad file”, …

Please for help to correct my mistake.

    regards, Andyt

    Hello again,

I did some further testing and I found some new information about that problem.

Generate Thumbnails and Store locally works for all links, where I never used “Generate Favorite Icons and Store locally”.

“Generate Favorite Icons and Store locally” creates a jpg file with transparency which isn’t allowed for jpg files. Strange, but it work: I download does files, open it with Microsoft Paint and save it as jpg file. It tell me, that I loose transparency….

After upload all Webbrowsers shows the correct pictures. With the original file, only Firefox show sometimes the icon. It seems to me, Firefox doesn’t care about wrong pictures files. However, Internet Explorer doesn’t like such files – maybe other Webbrowser too.

Therefore, is it possible to change “Generate Favorite Icons and Store locally” that it will create png files? On the other way, it is also Ok if it create correct jpg files without transparency.

    regards, Andyt

I fixed the favorite icon retrieval mechanism in the latest version and made the files now saved as .png files.

Icon created still doesn’t show on page. When I create the link, the image shows.. I create the “thumbnail and store locally”, it says it created it, the image is there in the folder.. altho it’s not the image I had uploaded but a generic image.

Either way, no image shows up.

I did UPDATE LINK, still nothing.

Any ideas what I may be doing wrong?

OK.. I may have solved the issue of showing the link.. need to make sure that the IMAGE box is checked in the settings page.

But I still have that unknown image showing and not the one I uploaded.

    Thanks

In order for the link that I uploaded to appear, I use the MANUAL UPLOADER and upload the image.. but do NOT “create thumbnail”.. just SAVE LINK.

If you scroll down to the “ADVANCED” section, you will see that the file you just uploaded is in the image location field.

    Hope this makes some sense!
