    More information…..

In the URL i see https://www.computershop-online.nl/?login=failed

This should explain how you can reset your password from outside of WordPress.

The bigger question is why you got locked out. You need to check that you actually have an admin account. If so, you then need to check for a theme or plugin conflict somewhere. To avoid getting locked out again, I’d stay logged in with one browser, and then try gaining access with a different one.

    Hi,

Yes offcourse i actually have an admin account. I am the owner of this website and company.

I will try to reset the password as you suggest via PhpMyAdmin.

    Thanks for your quick response.

I wasn’t trying to suggest that you weren’t. It’s just unusual for an admin account to get locked out, so I was just wondering whether it had somehow got reset to a different status.

Hi, I tried what you said, i was possible to reset the password by PhpMyAdmin, but still i am not possible to login anymore.

It is not possible anymore to go to the URL https://www.computershop-online.nl/wp-admin

I have Woocommerce installed on my website, and when i go to the “My Account” page from Woocommerce, and i fill in my username and password, and click on “login”, nothing happens, and i see again in the URL in my browser: https://www.computershop-online.nl/?login=failed.

All this happended after i changed in S2Member the option that anyone can register (Open Registration).

    Three things to try:

    1. Does your site or you host implement a login lockdown feature, whereby the account is shut down for a period after a number of faulty login attempts? If so, you need to get that disabled.

    2. Does your host keep a log of what happens to your site? If so, you may see something on it that will give you a clue as to the problem. (And, if not, you might like to think about changing hosts after this is over.)

    3. Last resort: you could access your installation via FTP and download (so as to keep a copy), then delete the folders of plugins that might be preventing access. But I would not do this until I had fully explored (1) and (2) or was sure I knew what the culprit was.

    Hi,

I have renamed the plugin S2Member, and now i am possible to login again into the wp-admin

So it has something to do with the S2Member plugin….

So it has something to do with the S2Member plugin….

So there must be a conflict between it and another plugin. I doubt it’s WooCommerce because loads of sites run those two together. Are you running some sort of security plugin?

    Hi,

I have just deleted the S2Member plugin. Because when i enable Open Registration I get spam Registrations, and when I disable Open Registration I am not able to login myself anymore. And login for myself is business critical.

As I say, you have a plugin conflict. But whatever works for you.
