JW Player Playlists does not work on any upgrade above 3.9.2

  • Media List is empty even though files show up in the WordPress Media library.

    Tried this with 4.0 and now with 4.0.1
    Might be an upgrade path issue, not sure, but it cannot find any files (any type audio or video).
    I can create a new playlist, delete a playlist, and it will play the current playlist just fine, but cannot find any files (to the playlist) since they don’t show up in the Medial List.
    My files are mostly external files, added through the add external media link.
    Again they show up fine in the WordPress Media Library but the JW Player Playlists cannot see them to be added to a playlist.

    I have two screen shots before and after but can’t upload them.

    Works fine on a clean install (4.0.1) but not if you upgrade.

    I have created a page to show the issue.
    First picture is WP 4.0.1
    second is WP 3.9.2

    The difference is the list of files on the right which is absent after upgrading to anything above WP 3.9.2

    Interesting, so it works with a clean install?

    Yes I did a clean install on an offsite server and seems OK. All the media file I created do show up on the list when I use the fresh install.

    The problem seems to be only when upgrading.

    That is very odd.

    An uneducated guess could be that the path to the media files is changed for WP 4.0 and above.

    Wouldn’t that still be the case regardless of the blog being a fresh 4.0 install or an upgrade install?
