I am having the exact same problem. Facebook share is picking a random image to show in facebook timeline. I saw this item on this support forum before, but no answers. Somebody any ideas?

I’m having the same issue as well. We have multiple images on the page, specific for the plugin to choose them for sharing. Unfortunately, Facebook is only choosing one of them other images.

I have the same problem but I saw that facebook keep in his cache the first picture you add in the sharer. If you change it then you can struggle as you want but nothing unless you wait one or two days. Maybe in such interval of time the clean their cache too.

Any ideas on this issue??? Still no fix… every share I do to facebook, it uses a completely different image than the preview. It is getting very annoying as the image is not related to the post at all.

    Please fix this asap.

Same issue on my end – when sharing with Google+ the correct image does show up, but sharing with Facebook seems to pull the same image again and again. I’ve set up all in one SEO’s Social Meta settings to pull the first attached image in a post but this plugin still defaults to some old image in our media library for Facebook shares.

Have you tried running the Facebook Debugger?
    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

Just enter the URL of the page. Sometimes it already notifies you of any errors. Clicking “Fetch New Scrape Information” solved many problems for me in the past.

I have the same problem. Is there a way to choose which image is Wodrdpress gonna pick?

I just tried that Facebook Debugger… post shows up fine.

Still running into the issue. I may switch to a different sharing plugin. Anyone have any luck with a different plugin that works?

Too bad that this plugin has not support ??

I found a solution that avoided having to lose this plug-in. (I didn’t want to try and find another because I like the way this one works).

You need another called “Facebook Open Graph, Google+ and Twitter Card tags”. It’s a big, clumsy name for a set of options that adds suitable Open Graph meta that FB recognises when it’s scraping the Page/Post you want to share.
A bit of tweeking is required and it helps to run the FB Debugger to check you’re heading the right way… but it works!

Well I did install another sharer… and got the same exact results. Must be something FB changed on their end…

I used the debugging tool on FB… the preview shows fine, but again… when posted, it shows a different image. Not sure what is going on here.

I am with gladavisj – I have just installed the Facebook Open Graph, Google+ and Twitter Card tags plugin (such a nifty name) and so far, so good. It is also compatible with the very latest version of WordPress. Fingers crossed!

Great to see some of you guys are having some success with open graph plugins, there are a number of free ones out there – just be sure to use the FB debugger tool after changes –

Simple Share Buttons Plus comes with this feature built in if you are interested in keeping it all under one roof – https://simplesharebuttons.com/plus/tutorials/

    Hi,

THanks to the plugin author and everyone.

A question as Im not sure how to proceed. How do I use the Facebook Open Graph, Google+ and Twitter Card tags plugin? What do I need to check in order to get it working with this plugin?

    Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem and installing this and assigning the images fixed it. https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-open-graph/
