photos too small for full viewing

  • I am new to wordpress so bear with me.
    I am trying to insert photo galleries in pages, not posts.
    I can get the gallery in there and all but when I click on the file in the thumbnail in the first gallery view, the photo comes up fine but is too small.
    The photos are all size 1920×1080.
    I have tried setting the sizes in the setting menus larger but does not make any difference.
    I want the photo to fill most of the screen when the thumbnail is clicked, that is why the HD size.

    You’re using some sort of lightbox plugin, or feature of your theme, which is restricting the size of opened images.

    You can probably either adjust its settings or disable it.

    just a suggestion you might want to think about making those images smaller than 1920×1080, not everyone’s going to have a display that can handle those dimensions without excessive scrolling plus if they’re smaller they take up less space on disk.
