• Hi there,

I fumbled my way through creating my own website a while back and have figured out how to edit it independently (I am not a technologically advanced person). Now, though, when I log into my wp-admin website a blank screen appears and it won’t allow me to make edits. I need to edit it, though, as my business has changed. Can someone help? I need concrete steps, no code!

    Thank you!

Via FTP, rename your “plugins” folder to “plugins-old”. That will deactivate all of your plugins, to explore whether any could be responsible. You can rename it back afterwards.

Thanks Andrew! What is “FTP”? Totally embarrassed but I have no idea what that means.

FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol and is one way to access the files to your WordPress site.

Sometimes you can access them through a web interface like cPanel with your web host.

Do you have access to your web host to the actual WordPress files?

Ok I made an FTP account through my hosting site, but I cant figure out how to access or change my files this way. Any ideas?

I have no idea what I am doing ?? This is so frustrating! I used to be able to just log onto my website (drcassiemajestic.com/wp-admin) and make edits. I don’t understand what has changed and I very much need to make edits! I need some “wp for dummies” advice on how I can get back to just simply making edits again. Any help is appreciated!
