Images appear to be loading twice

  • I’m wondering if someone could help troubleshoot this. My page (www.veganostomy.ca) scores quite high in the pingdom website speed test (Perf. grade 90/100), but images seem to load twice, making it distracting to navigate on the site.

    I thought it could be the Retnia X2 plugin kicking in retina versions of the images, but I’ve disabled that, cleared the cache and it still does it.

    Any suggestions on where I could look or test this out further?

    Looks like I may have found the answer:

    I disabled CloudFlare’s “Rocket Loader” after noticing that my twitter feeds widget wasn’t loading, and there doesn’t appear to be anymore double loading of images, but my pingdom scores have dropped to 74/100 with this change – even though real-world use seems much better than previously.

    Can anyone explain why that is?
