How to change a language default path ?

Hello,
I have English and German version of the website.
While English is pointing in https://www.domain.com, the German version is pointing to https://www.domain.com/de … but my theme have a custom homepage and I had to create a homepage-de.php.
How can I make it that German to point to https://www.domain.com/de/homepage-de.php instead of /de/ only ?Thanks
