4.0.1 Update, Logged into Site, Posts Gone

  • Hi there,

    Logged into my site after a few days and none of my past posts, scheduled posts, or drafts are there. It’s basically an empty site that says I haven’t had any activity.

    Anything I can do here? I’m freaking out a bit. I tried to re-install 4.0.1 to see if that would reset everything and it didn’t. I also called my host to confirm it was not on their end, and they said it wasn’t. ?? I’m all out of ideas and feel a bit out of my league.

    First of all, you have a very nice theme.

    You said that, you tried to re-install 4.0.1 – Is it means that you have removed all your previous folders, and started all over again. If so, then, I guess that you have removed wp-content folder as well. In that case, and you didn’t have proper back-up of your website images etc will break.

    When you update your wordpress installation. Sometimes, it happens that posts either become invisible or give some 404 error. After update you need to go to Settings > Permalinks, and click Save. Nothing else to do – It will flush rewrite rules and website start appearing again.

    Please, let use know – how you did that. We are anxious to hear from you.

    Hi, thanks for your reply.

    I just want to explain what happened one more time (in cause we are confused). There was an automatic update, when I logged into my Dashboard, all my content was already gone. So I tried to re-install the update and that didn’t do a thing.

    I just tried to do the Settings > Permalink suggestion and nothing happened there either. Is it possible one of my plug-ins is causing this issue?

    No, plugins [WordPress Updated with 100 Plugins] are not supposed to cause such problem in Admin area, and Content is not supposed to vanish from dashboard.
    Okay, Try to disable plugins.
