my page has a small 404 error on the upper left side of the screen

  • Hi,

    There is a small 404 error on the upper left sitd of my WP site rockwellmarsh.com also my media uploader and library does not work. It does not show the previous files I updated and when I try to update it stalls on crunching.

    Here are the troubleshooting steps I’ve done:

    1. Deactivated all the plug-ins
    2. Reinstalled wordpress 4.01 update
    3. fixed wordpress database using phpmyadmin
    4. Fixed site permissions on cpanel
    5. Contacted my Webhost support to fix permissions and .htaccess files

    Nothing have seemed to work, i really need help.

  • Hi, diovi_rae, & welcome.

    Perchance, do you have any error logs? That might really be helpful, particularly if you can isolate entries from around the time this began. Also, could we please see your .htaccess file?

    You can view your site’s files, either using your control panel’s file manager, or via (preferably) secure FTP.

    Please let us know if you need help doing that.

    Lastly, might you be willing to try using another theme, i.e., 2014, temporarily, just to see if possibly the 404 goes away?

    Having same 404 issue. Tried another template but no luck. any other ideas I should try?
