SSL Mismatch using cloudflare CDN

    Hi !
    I can’t make ssl work with wordpress and cloudflare CDN.
    Here the case :
    – I have a hostpartner cloudflare account (free) and SSL is OFF on cloudflare (hostpartner accounts don’t allow SSL cloudflare functionality)
    – i have a startSSL certificate on my domain and subdomain jmleclercq.com and blog.jmleclercq.com
    – When i try to open https://blog.jmleclercq.com/ i have an url mismatch for the website and the certificate is the SSL2000 cloudflare one… !!

    I don’t understand why.. and cloudflare support can’t help me…

    PS : i have the same configuration on other domains, with the same host, and the same cloudflare config who works (but not WP site). I have the green lock on all pages and all sites.

    Certs and CDNs are complicated. Visit https://www.digicert.com/help/ and put in https://blog.jmleclercq.com/ and it will confirm what you already know: the CN and alternate subject names do not match your site.

    The only way to make it work is for you to give them a copy of your SSL cert and key. They won’t accept that for a free account and it’s a bad idea. The liability to too sever.

    Perhaps their Universal SSL https://www.cloudflare.com/ssl will be an option but they’ll need to explain that better for you.

    The strange thing is that with another domain, with exactly the same configuration (cloudflare free and SSL OFF) i don’t have any problem and the certificate is OK

    https://classifieds.photohall.org is OK but not on wordpress

    https://blog.jmleclercq.com is NOK and run on wordpress

    i have make a test with https://jmleclercq.com and all is OK (but now i have a redirection on it )

    So i suppose the problem is with the wordpress config …

    Hi,

    You would have to upgrade to a paid plan for the SSL to work, if you are running that subdomain through us with SSL enabled on it (the free option is not available through a hosting partner).
