Problem with installing plugin

    I am trying to install WP Contact Form 7 Plugin on a MH Magazine Theme, and I only get the info:
    The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

    I tried to install different plugins as well, with similar result (unsuccessfully)

    I would appreciate helpful advice.

  • How did you try to install it? By uploading a ZIP file that you downloaded?

    Or the usual way of using the INSTALL button when you search for plugins in your WP admin?

    I used “add new” button, and upload plugin. Than I’ve chosen
    wp-contact-form-7.php
    Is there another way?

    You shouldn’t upload the .PHP file, but the .ZIP file that you downloaded.

    If you already have a folder called “contactform-7” (or something alike) that contains all the plugin files, just copy the entire folder to your wp-content/plugins folder.

    After that, the plugin should appear in your list of plugins.

    I cannot find wp-content/plugins folder.
    Where should I look for it? I have found the page, that install .zip, and the folder doesn’t activate “choose” button. Maybe my Mac unzips the file downloading to computer?

    Wherever your web site is located, it has to have a folder called wp-content — it’s an essential part of your WordPress site.

    Is the site on your Mac or on a server somewhere?

    Wow: I compressed plugin back to .zip file and it worked!
