I have been using “event organiser” for some months in a personal project under development, and this is the first time that I experience an issue. By one side, any event shows venues’ information, or more simple, the venues template disappear from my site, even if the information is right there. So, venues information including locations, maps, and hours are not visible as usual.

I also have a problem in the dashboard, because the venue’s section is not displayed as usual. More precisely, I can not see the drop-and-down button that serves to display the list of all recorded venues. I still can select a venue by using the arrows…

Recently, I have been making some arrangements on the site, in relation with the plugin, I mixed ‘posts’ and ‘events’ on the homepage following these instructions, and I was planning to (finally) activate the spanish translations of the plugin, whose performance is still an enygma for me.

My actual plugin’s version is 2.9.2.

    Any help is welcome !

    Guillermo

    Hi Guillermo,

This event page shows the venue name, map and a link to the venue page. The venue page itself also shows a map of the venue. The venue address appears on the tooltip for the venue marker.

That is, by default, the only venue details that appear on the front-end. The templates are editable (move them first to your theme, if you haven’t done so already so any changes aren’t lost when you update the plug-in), so if you do want to add further details anywhere else, you can.

Regarding the drop-down selection of venues – am I right in thinking this is on the event edit page? Are you seeing the “jQuery UI” dropdown (i.e. its in fact a input, when you start typing the venue name, it should come up with suggestions). If not, and you’re seeing a standard select, then this is probably due to a javascript error on the page. You can test this by right clicking, and selecting “inspect element” and then selecting “console” (this may vary depending your browser). Then refresh the page. There shouldn’t be any errors coming from Event Organiser, but there may be errors coming from other plug-ins/themes.

    Hello Stephen,

It could be strange to say this, but I cannot see what you are seeing… I try with firefox, safari and chrome navigators, and any event (including the one you’re linking here) shows info about venues.

It could be a javascript error on my computer ? I will turn it off and on, then try again…

    Any change by the moment…

I opened the site in three different computers with the same results: any event shows the venues information. To advance on this topic, I just want to add something else : all the computers I used are mac… for macbook users, specially those who are allready using yosemite, java and jre have been really problematics (you can see soemthing about this in this forum).

    Hi Guillermo,

Just to say after visiting the link again today, the page has changed, and no longer displays any venue information.

For the single event page, the plug-in will insert the event details just before the content unless there is a event-single.php template present in the theme. You may want to check if that’s the case, and if so, that it’s set to display the appropriate details.

Otherwise, you may want to try deactivating other plug-ins/themes, there maybe something over-riding this behaviour. If you let me know the offending plug-in(s) I can take a look for you.

    Okay, the issue is solved…

You have directed my attention in the right direction… and I discovered that the “problem” was not a problem, but a simple setting misunderstanding :

The “enable templates” from the event organiser settings was unchecked !
After I checked it (again), everything comes back to the normality.

    Thanks to be there !

    Just one last thing :

Maybe there is an incompatibility with zotpress plugin.
