    Hello,

If an incorrect e-mail adress is filled in, my CF7 shows a validation error message like it should. But then, the email-textfield is not recognized as such anymore, it is impossible to write text in it / a correct adress.

And this only in chrome and firefox, in safari it’s fine.
Does anyone have a clue? I couldn’t find this issue anywhere else…

    Thanks.

Try switching to the default theme.

I found the problem. As long as the theme is opened in customisation-mode in some browser-window, only then CF7 behaved like that. Only viewing in normal browser style works fine.

I’m not sure what you meant with switching to default theme… ? Thank you nonetheless!

The plugin author is recommending a very common approach to problem solving in WordPress.

If you find your theme is the problem then you might contact your theme provider for a possible solution.

Personally I would be very cautious of any theme that causes problems with the extremely widely used CF7 plugin. It’s an indicator of poor coding practices and a warning that the theme may cause conflicts with other plugins you might want to use.

I am using a theme that has many users and is supposed to be well written, we will see what else comes up. anyway, thank you both for your advise!
