• How do you add members to a group if friends is turned off and Followers activated instead? Or does this plugin not work with Groups if the friends component is turned off.

More info if you can be bothered:
What I am really after is a way for an admin of a group to add people without being their friend. In case your’e wondering the site is a client site where everyone is basically a friend of the Group owner and that Group owner can add whoever to their group. This is the reason for looking at this plugin in the first place. Any help would be most appreciated.

    Good question.

At the moment, you cannot add members to a group with BP Follow if the friends component is disabled because that group feature heavily relies on the friends component.

As an alternative, you could try the Invite Anyone plugin, but BP Follow isn’t integrated into that plugin either. You might be able to search for users to add though.

Back to BP Follow, chances are that switching friends with followers into groups will not be as straightforward to add since I’d have to fake that the friends component is active and I’d have to inject my own dummy friend functions.

It’s on the backburner. No timetable for when this will be looked at or even implemented.
