Can domain mapping still work if I give wordpress its own directory?
-
I know there’s been a ton of discussions on this topic, because I’ve seen my fair share, but didn’t find any addressing this question.
Can the domain mapping still work if I give my wordpress site its own directory, then activate multisite? Or will I still have to run this patch: https://patchlog.com/wordpress/wpmu-domain-mapping-in-subfolder-install/
This is what I did:
1. installed wordpress in public_html/wordpress
2. gave it its own directory so I could drop /wordpress from my domain
3. activated multisite
4. installed domain mapping plugin (without patching) and it seemed to work, but my subdomains weren’t mapping even after their DNS pointed to my host. Then I got into a whole mess, and my main site was not found, so I basically wanted to start fresh, and now I am right back at mydomain.com/wordpress.
Any answer on this would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks all!
